My Friends and I Save a Bird

Saturday, Eoin, Maura and I saved a bird. It was a house finch. And it was a baby house finch. Really I was the one who found it. I was walking along the side of the road, when I happened to look down and I thought I saw a rock move. But when I looked even closer, it turned out to be a bird.

It was drenched, and I thought it was so drenched that it couldn't fly. Then I got Maura and Eoin to bring their net over to it, and then we caught it and we brought it into the garage for a few minutes and gave it food. Then, Mrs. Sharon took it out to a tree in her back yard. And she set it free.

I was proud when I saved that bird.

Eddie, I was proud when you saved that bird too, though I'm glad that you didn't let Maura kill it.

That's very sweet, Eddie. That little bird will be flying around, eating berries and bugs, and chirping happily all summer long thanks to you.
